Current Spring Events
The April 2025 Ham-O-Rama started with a little rain outside but we were all inside busy handing out hams, veggies, tulips and a whole lot of pies! The Post 440 has the best donators, volunteers, and of course the best supporters who come to these events. Our Auxiliary does so much for Veterans and Veteran Programs, and we have you, our members and neighbors, to thank for helping to make it all possible. Friends and families together, winning Easter Dinner and some great raffles! We hope you and your family enjoyed the Holiday. Thank you for showing up!
The "Shot heard round the world" at the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19th, 1775, was the start of the American Revolutionary War. From that date to July 4th, 1776, the signing of The Declaration of Independence, many Patriots fought for our new country’s Independence, and it cost many their lives. But they endured. They were our first American Veterans. We need to remember our original Patriots stood tall for freedom of oppression, rights of the countrymen, acceptance of individual faiths, ownership of land, and dependence from foreign nations. They helped to create The United States of America and allowed future generations the opportunity to participate in their country’s governing body. The USA is a nation like no other and protecting our values is vital. As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, please pause to remember and thank all of our Veterans.
AL District 5 Bowling Fundraiser Sat April 26th
On Friday, May 2nd the ALA will host a GIFT CARD BINGO night at the Post. Doors open at 6pm and the games start at 7pm. Come, bring a friend and a pizza! You could win any number of gift cards or scratch tickets! Admission is $10 for 10 games with additional games to purchase for $5. We will also have a $250 multi lottery ticket scratch board you could win! Only $10 per a raffle ticket!
AL District 5 Auxiliary meeting & luncheon is Saturday May 10th at the Post 440 at 11am.
Memorial Day Monday May 26th. Events to be scheduled by AL Post.
On Friday June 6th the ALA will be hosting “Counterfeit Cash” A Johnny Cash & Friends Tribute Band. Come to the Post and enjoy the music of “The Man in Black”. Doors Open at 7pm.
Light Snacks will be provided. Cash Bar. Raffles. Tickets are $25, on sale starting May 2nd.
Winners of the two ALA Nonantum Unit 440 to be announced.
Flag Day is Saturday, June 14 this year. Old Glory celebrates its 248th year as our Nations Flag.
ALA is sponsoring three girls to Girls State this summer. June 20th to June 25th at Stonehill College.
Information meeting May 4th at noon at the Baldwinville AL Post. Must register by May 1st.
ALA 440’s Next meeting will be Tuesday May 13th 2025 at 6:30pm.
Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?
A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.
However, if the qualifying Veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying Veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
Contact your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit, complete the application and proudly join the AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY.
